Ancient church, amply reshaped halfway through 1600 on a project attributed to Sebastiano Guala. The façade was completed at the end of 19th century. Inside, on the altar on the left, there is a painting by Guglielmo Caccia (1568- 1625) representing “Saint Lucia with Saint Crispino, Saint Crispiniano and Saint Agata”; on the central altar a canvas with “Martyrdom of Saint Stephen”, dated 1660, by Francesco Cairo.
On the right, a painting by G.F.Caroto, “Martyrdom of Saint Sebastiano”; on the walls there are ovals (1757) with Prophets and Apostles by P. F. Guala. In the square there is a monument to Luigi Canina, architect of Paolina Bonaparte Borghese. Thanks to him, the Cathedral was preserved from demolition.
