    JESUS ORATORY

    JESUS ORATORY
    Via Piccaroli
open at the weekends of “Casale Città Aperta”
It was built by a group of brethrens of the “Compagnia
    degli Angeli” (The Angels’ Company).
The aisleless building dates back to the beginning of the 16 thcentury. The coffered ceiling, decorated with rosettes and the monogram of Christ, symbol of Saint Bernardino from Siena, dates back to the half of the same century.
On the left wall there is a polyptych from Martino Spanzotti’s studio painted at the beginning of the 16th century. The central part represents “The Virgin with the Child and Saint Anne”, in the panels there are some Saints and in the upper part there is a lunette with “The Deposition of Christ”. At the centre of the choir there is a copy of a tapestry representing “The Circumcision of Christ” and the same theme is also painted on the beautiful canvas by Bernardino Lanino placed on the back wall.
On the right there is a canvas painted by Pietro Francesco Guala representing “Our Lady of the Assumption”.
