ANNA D’ALENÇON PALACE
Via Alessandria – Private palace
Opening of the courtyard from Monday to
Friday 9.00am – 7.00pm
The Palace, dating back to the 15th-16th centuries, was the residence of the Marchioness Anna d’Alençon, wife of Guglielmo IX Paleologo (1508-1568).
The relevant Renaissance courtyard is surrounded by circular columns in brickwork with cube-shaped capitals, a portico with pointed arches and a coffered ceiling.
Inside, the big rooms are decorated with coats-of-arm and paintings representing the members of the Paleologi family. By the end of the 17th century the palace belonged to the Fassati of Balzola, whose coat-of-arm is on the barrel vault in the entrance.
